It was a dramatic photo on the front page of Saturday’s New York Times: a lone bugler, framed against the Manhattan skyline, playing to honor the victims of 9/11 on the eighth anniversary of the tragedy. But the thousands lost in 2001 weren’t the only people bugler Kim Bonsanti was honoring.
